Software-oriented

research_

Torven Labs is an independent AI and software lab where research turns into product. Currently building Tao, a developer-first platform, and publishing peer-reviewed research in NLP and affective computing. Let's move the needle.

// THE DIFFERENCE

Plenty of accounts curate other people's ideas. Torven Labs makes its own: original software and original research, built in-house.

01 / SOFTWARE

Software development

Production platforms designed and built end to end. Tao is the foundation the rest is built on.

02 / AI

Artificial intelligence

Applied AI and NLP sit at the core of the product and the research: method, not label.

03 / RESEARCH

Research

Peer-reviewed publications in NLP and affective computing. Original science, on the public record.

// THE PLATFORM

Tao

EARLY CONSTRUCTION

A developer-first application platform.

Tao is the platform the lab is building to run everything it ships next: business applications for analytics, customer relationships, process management and more, all standing on one shared foundation for identity, access, logging and integration. One platform, many apps, built for the engineers who actually run it.

Roadmap

// SHARED CORE
AuthCORE

Sessions, tokens, SSO. Handled once, used everywhere.

Users & RolesCORE

Identity and permissions shared across every app.

Logging & AuditCORE

Structured logs and audit trails on by default.

MiddlewareCORE

A composable request pipeline you actually control.

// APPS
AnalyticsAPP

Dashboards and metrics wired straight to your data.

CRMAPP

Contacts, pipelines and activity in one model.

BPMAPP

Model and run business processes end to end.

+ more

Everything the lab builds next ships here.

Artificial Intelligence meets Artificial Emotions

Affective computing is the study of how machines detect, interpret and respond to human emotion. It is the focus of the research at Torven Labs, led by Alejandro De León Languré, and every paper below is the lab's own published work.

FOUNDER · TORVEN LABS

Alejandro founded Torven Labs to do one thing well: build software that ships and research that holds up. Two decades across enterprise systems, data science and full-stack development, plus director-level roles running teams, budgets and systems at scale, now go entirely into the lab.

He holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from Tecnológico de Monterrey and an MSc in Marketing from Universidad Anáhuac Business School, and researches how machines read emotion in language.
